Carbon Monoxide2There are now more CO detectors in the area thanks to a donation from the Insurance Bureau of Canada. 

On Friday, the IBC presented 150 alarms to the North Bay Fire Department.

CO alarms are now mandatory province wide.

The manager of goverment relations for the IBC , Matt Hiraishi says they have donated over 5500 detectors over the last two years because they are saving lives. 

North Bay Deputy Fire Chief Mike Bechard says they receive donations on a regular basis and so they they’ve decided to donate them to a regional group the Nipissing-East Parry Sound Mutual Aid Association and they’ll go to places like Callander, Sundridge and East Ferris.
