opseuA rally in North Bay will take place on November 30th and it will be live streamed to Queens Park. The goal is to send the message that the cuts at the hospital need to be reversed says Mike Bisaillon.

He is an Executive Board Member of OPSEU Local 616 and he says gave a brief presentation to North Bay Council because the city needs health services.

Bisaillon says you can’t bring in better jobs and more industry to North Bay without those services. He adds they hope to see many people come out on November 30th.

Chair of Community Services Mark King says he likes the idea of live streaming the rally to Queens Park.

He says there is too much of a divide in the province.

He says the line is in the Orillia area with northern Ontario being the “have-nots” and southern Ontario being the “haves.”

King has been vocal about getting better funding for North Bay’s health sector.

He says “we have to hold the provincial government’s feet to the fire. I feel like the city has a target on its back.”
