mayor Al Facebook post

The City of North Bay does NOT have anyone going door-to-door asking for a variety of personal information or asking to go inside.

Mayor Al McDonald says he was contacted on Facebook about an incident and told the person not to let anyone in.

The Mayor says he contacted staff and confirmed they didn’t have anyone going door to door, plus he says they contacted police about this incident.

He also encouraged the person who contacted him to call the police too.

The Facebook message says the two people were looking to discuss water meters, payments, fluoride and more.

McDonald says if the city ever does send someone to people’s homes they would have proper ID and there would be a city vehicle in the area.

Meantime, the North Bay Police Service says after an investigation they located the individuals and learned they represent a legitimate Markham-based energy business selling residential water softener products and carbon filters.  They were carrying proper identification.

Police say the do NOT represent the City of North Bay.
