Santos had two goals and three assists to give the Troops their third straight win and fifth in seven games.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says after an up and down start to the year things seem to be turning around.

Mike Amadio chipped in with two goals and an assist while Max Kislinger and Brett McKenzie rounded out the scoring.

A number of players had multi-point games including Santos, Amadio, Miles Liberati, and Kyle Wood.

The Battalion went ahead 3-0 at the end of one, and survived a Firebirds comeback attempt by scoring three more in the third.

Battalion goaltender Jake Smith has three straight wins, as he made 22 saves on 25 shots for his 8th win of the year.

Butler had high praise for the younger guys on the team including Kyle Potts, Justin Brazeau and Kislinger.

He says he calls them the IQ line.

The game also marked the debut of North Bay native, and 2015 first round draft pick Brady Lyle.

Lyle, in his first OHL game, ended with a -1 plus/minus rating, with no shots on net.
