City HallThere are five public presentations scheduled for tonight’s City Council meeting.

Subjects will include Summer in the Park, Transit, the 2016 Budget and Capital Budget.

In terms of the agenda, Mayor Al McDonald says Councillor Mac Bain is bringing forward a motion which touches on changes to the Provincial Offences Act.

McDonald says there are two issues; one being the rates to municipalities to enforce these POA’s are continually increase and second the laws and regulations for the municipalities aren’t strong enough to allow them to collect those fines.

He says there are about $12-million worth of uncollected fines within North Bay.

McDonald adds other items include council officially voting for the water meter rate structure that will lower the rates per cubic meter and monthly fixed rate.
