Cookie walkThe North Bay Food Bank held its first Cookie Walk (pictured) at Burrows Country Store and Garden Centre on the weekend.

Over 300 dozen cookies were sold in the “fun-raiser” benefiting the Food Bank.

Officials are thanking everyone who purchased cookies, as well as the behind-the-scenes bakers who volunteered their time and baking skills.

Meantime, $32,000.  That’s how much money the Lions Telethon had raised by the time they signed off at 11 o’clock Saturday night.

Proceeds from the telethon are used to provide baskets of food and gifts to families and children in need in the area.

13 Lions Clubs are involved from North Bay to Sundridge, Port Loring and Mattawa.
