Unifor lockout(File Photo) The lockout is over at the ONTC.

A tentative deal with Unifor Local 103 was reached Sunday for all five bargaining units.

ONTC President and CEO Corina Moore says, “We are very pleased that a tentative agreement was reached with Unifor that balances the interests of employees with the organization’s need to meet its transformation and financial goals,”

She goes on to say, “This tentative agreement is another positive step for the organization as we work together to strengthen Ontario Northland. In particular, the changes incorporated into the shopcraft agreement will shape a bright future for our remanufacturing business and the communities of North Bay and Cochrane. “

“We are proud of the hard work the bargaining team has done on behalf of our members and we look forward to presenting the agreement to them for ratification,” said Andy Mitchell, President of Unifor Local 103.

MPP Vic Fedeli is glad the labour dispute has come to an end, “On behalf of our community, I’m pleased and relieved at word of a tentative agreement between the ONTC and Unifor ending the four-week lockout. My thanks go out to many members in our community for their persistent and vocal efforts — such as Saturday’s unity rally — to push for a negotiated settlement to this dispute. While this deal is still pending ratification, I’m encouraged by the prospect of Unifor members being able to return to work.”

The tentative deal brings an end to the four-week lockout at the ONTC.
