12 people charged on the weekend by city police

City police are reporting 209 calls for service on the weekend, with a dozen people charged for a variety of offences.

They include assault, choking, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, sexual assault, impaired, public intoxication, harassment, extortion and breach. 

Domestic-related charges

A couple of separate domestic-related incidents have led to a variety of charges for two people.

A 46 year old Redbridge man has been charged with 11 counts, including assault, choking, uttering threats and pointing a firearm.

This after allegations of a number of incidents between September 1st, 2014 and November 29th of this year involving him and his wife.

It’s alleged she was assaulted with household objects and a pellet gun.

Meantime, city police were called to a North Bay neighbourhood early Saturday morning after a 911 call reporting the sound of a woman screaming.

It’s alleged an altercation between and a man and his female partner turned violent.

A 25 year old North Bay man is charged with assault and breach.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Assault leads to charges

An incident early Sunday morning at the intersection of Ferguson Street and Sixth Avenue has led to charges for a Temiscaming man.

It’s alleged argument between two men, known to each other, turned violent and one was struck with a beer bottle, suffering non-life threatening injuries.

A 24 year old man is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and breach.

Fail to remain collisions

And finally North Bay Police are reminding motorists to focus when driving and parking in shopping mall parking lots.

Police say stats from the Collision Reporting Centre show there have been 16 collisions in parking lots since November 1st, where the driver failed to remain to report the damage done.

Police report the Toyota 4Runner (pictured above) was hit on Tuesday December 8^th between 12 noon and 1:30 p.m. in the small triangular parking lot adjacent to the covered parking lot at the shopping centre on Fisher.

The driver who caused the damage left no note to inform the victim of the collision.
