City Hall  genericCouncil did not have public input on their decision to raise their salaries for 2016.

That’s why we took to the streets to find out what you thought.

Residents were quoted as saying “it’s a lot of work and if we want people to do a good job they should be paid for it.”

Others said “there are so many things in this city that need finances such as the museum roof or the Capitol Centre – and when the city denies them, then it’s not the right time to have a pay increase.”

The motion was passed in a 7-4 vote in favour of remuneration and  will come into effect January 1st 2016.
