Holiday closures in effect Friday

Santa arrives Thursday  night and that means the usual round of closures Friday.

Christmas Day is one of nine stat holidays in Ontario, with government and retail operations closed. 

City transit buses won’t be running Friday  but they will be on Boxing Day on a Sunday schedule. 

There’s no garbage or recycling pick-up tomorrow. 

It will happen Saturday instead. 

Meantime, on Boxing Day both Northgate Shopping Centre and the North Bay Mall will be open. 

Some stores downtown will be open too.
