If you look out on the water you could be looking at a nice blanket of snow, but it’s still not time to bring out the snowmobile.

Shawn Flindall is the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the North Bay Snowmobile Club and he says while the club is excited for the weather; they aren’t excited about the snow.

He says the snow acts as an insulating layer, preventing the water from freezing. He says they cross plenty of swamps and waterways on the trail.

Flindall says while he understands people are excited to go snowmobiling, they still need a few weeks of very cold weather before they can even send the groomer out.

Flindall says if you wish to know when you can hit the trails, you can follow them on twitter, @Northbay_SC, or look for the green light on their website.
