The winning streak on home ice has come to an end for the North Bay Battalion as they lose 8-2 to the Ottawa 67’s.

It’s the first loss in 9 home games for the Troops who trailed 4-0 after the first, and 8-1 after the second.

This was the fifth straight game the Troops played with just five defencemen and Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says that could be wearing on the team.

Butler was asked about the team showing a lack of anger on the bench as the game moved along.

Battalion goaltenders Jake Smith and Jake Kment both allowed four goals on 15 shots.

Smith was pulled after the first period.

North Bay managed three points in three games on the weekend.

Butler says this loss falls in line with the up and down season they have had to this point.

The Battalion welcome the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds to Memorial Gardens on Thursday.
