A group of Chinese students begin classes at Canadore

Students from the China Institute of Industrial Relations in Beijing started classes at Canadore College this week.

They are taking part in the English as a Second Language Program.

Richard Peters is the Vice President of Finance and Corporate Services at Canadore College.

He says the program consists mainly of English speaking training, but they also get to experience more courses during their time at the college.

Peters says they hope this will make the students want to return for more semesters, or return home to recommend the college to their friends.

He also believes this is a great way to introduce students to different cultures.

Peters says this program also allows them to market the college to new students over a longer period of time.

He says they have successfully done this program before, but not with the China Institute of Industrial Relations.
