cassellholmeWork continues behind the scenes on a new governance model for Cassellholme, while work also continues on seeing the 2015 tax levy paid by four member municipalities who want to withdraw from being members.

Board Chair Chris Mayne says this involves the redevelopment of Cassellholme with Mattawa, Mattawan, Papineau-Cameron and Calvin wanting to direct their funding towards their own redevelopment.

He says unanimous consent is required on changing the governance.

Meantime, Mayne says the levy amount owed is about $150,000.

He says an open and frank discussion was held last night (Wednesday) and there’s more correspondence today but he expects those amounts will be paid “soon”.

In terms of the $60-million Cassellholme redevelopment, Mayne says if they reach a change in governance and get provincial approval on the business case there’s still a chance they could get in the ground this year.

But, he says the realistic expectation is 2017.
