Investigation into accounting irregularities involving West Nipissing Public Works Department

An independent investigation is underway in West Nipissing into accounting irregularities in the Public Works Department.

That confirmation from Mayor and Council of West Nipissing, who say two municipal managers were placed on administrative leave effective January 18th.

In a release, the municipality says this was done to ensure an unbiased and impartial investigation.

They go on to say being placed on administrative leave does not presuppose any wrongdoing by those involved.

More information is expected once the investigation is complete.
