A Kyle Wood power play goal was the difference maker in the Troops 4-2 win over Sudbury yesterday (Sunday).

It came with under five minutes to play in the second, after the Troops squandered an earlier 2-0 lead.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says he’s happy with the results despite the team going 1 for 5 with the man advantage.

The Battalion haven’t lost in regulation in 7 straight games.

North Bay jumped out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to Daniil Vertiy.

He says every win is important now.

North Bay is now four points behind the Barrie Colts for the division lead.

Jake Smith now has 80 career wins after gutting out 22 saves in the process.

North Bay opened up to a two goal lead before the Wolves tied it before the end of the first.

Captain Mike Amadio added an empty net goal, while Maurizio Colella also scored in the first.
