Investigation underway after dead kitten found in cooler bag

The North Bay and District Humane Society is asking that anyone with information involving a 4 to 6 month old dead kitten found in a cooler bag on Lake Nipissing call 310-SPCA.

The deceased kitten was found in the cooler bag February 4th at the public access point of the Queen and James Street Area in North Bay.

Officials say the cooler had physical evidence that indicated the kitten had been alive at some point in the cooler and had attempted to escape.

City police are conducting forensic analysis of the cooler bag, as the joint investigation continues.
