Operations Review Committee has first meeting

The first meeting of a year-long process took place last night (Tuesday).

George Maroosis is the Chair of the Operations Review Committee and he says they will really have an in-depth look into all the services and operations the city provides.

He says this initial meeting gave an overview of the priorities for the committee going forward.

Maroosis says it was a good start and they will meet every Monday and starting next week they will be looking at Community Services.

City CAO Jerry Knox says the Councillors will be examining every business unit, service and operation the city has to offer.

He says from the city standpoint they will be offering suggestions and providing insight.

Knox says they hope to show they have a plan on how to run the city like a business.

The committee will meet every Monday for a 12 month period.
