Police say the caller claims to be from the Canada Revenue Agency.

Police say if you do fall victim you could experience identity and financial theft.

Police say the callers say people will be arrested, have their accounts seized or have their homes foreclosed if the fictitious debt isn’t paid.

The caller requests immediate payment by credit card.

Police say if you get a call like this hang up immediately and report it to the Canadian Fraud Centre by phoning 1-888-495-8501.

Keep in mind the Canada Revenue Agency never requests pre paid credit cards, never asks for information about passports or health cards and never shares your taxpayer information with another person without your information.
