Economic Development the focus in Monday's Operation Review Committee meeting

There was no council meeting on Monday, but Councillors still got together for the Operations Review Committee meeting.

Chair George Maroosis says over the next few weeks they will be looking at everything under the Community Services department.

He says they are hoping to find ways to bring about cost savings and efficiencies. Maroosis says they covered the planning and zoning departments last night.

He says they have asked staff to look into those areas and report back to them.

Meantime, he says there is more to come out of the Community Services Department as a whole.

Maroosis says in the next couple of meetings there will be a report from the Fire Department looking at their services, as well as discussing parks and arenas.

Maroosis says that’s a very important component with a lot of big decisions to be made in the near future.
