Busy times for snow removal

Snow removal efforts continue as the “excessive snowfall” has also continued in North Bay.

That’s the word from Chair of Engineering and Works Councillor Tanya Vrebosch.

City crews say they’re on Front Street today (Thursday), clearing from Algonquin to Cassells and will be on Lakeshore tonight at midnight.

Overall, Vrebosch says it’s a busy time of year.

She says people ask why not hire more people, but she says the private sector is heavily booked up.

Vrebosch says they tried booking trucks this week, but because they’re already booked with the MTO or other private companies there just isn’t that availability.

Meantime, She says residents can call Public Works (705-474-4340) if there’s an area with sight line issues or safety concerns.
