OSPCA_logoThe Ontario SPCA says they’re encouraged by a recent Animal Care Review Board’s decision over the removal of 70 dogs from a Trout Creek home.

The March 1st decision confirmed that removing the dogs was justified because standards of care were not being met.

Ontario SPCA officials say there is no excuse to let an animal go without proper care.

Senior Inspector Lynn Michaud says, “If you are having difficulty providing appropriate care, contact the Ontario SPCA or your local SPCA or Humane Society to discuss available options and support.”

Back in late October, three people were charged with with four counts of animal cruelty under the Ontario SPCA Act — including one count of permitting an animal to be in distress and three counts of failing to comply with the Standards of Care.

The charges remain before the Courts.
