A call for action on cycling in North Bay

Members of City Council will take part in a bike tour of the city this summer.

Rob Bilz is a board member with the Discovery Routes Trails organization and he has invited council to do the tour to get a firsthand look at some issues related to cycling in North Bay.

He says those include having better access to trails, and making them safer for students.

Bilz is hopeful they can put together a master plan.

He says if they have a master plan in place they would be able to access different areas of funding which could go towards making the trails safer and more accessible.

Bilz says he’s hopeful the bike tour with the councillors will instigate a change or spark some ideas on how to move forward.
