Chamber of CommerceThere could be a new business moving in soon on Seymour.

The city is in the process of rezoning the vacant area off Seymour and the Bypass for commercial use.

The site was the former home of the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce building.

Mayor Al McDonald says by rezoning it, this allows for retail or restaurant businesses to bid on the land.

He says they could pay close to $20-thousand a year in taxes as well as create jobs.

Chair of Community Service Mark King says it’s a valuable piece of land which he estimates the value north of $1-million.

He says it will provide high end commericial use and rechanging the zone gives them real value for the dollar.
