12 charges were laid for using cell phones while driving and another 2 for careless driving related to cell phone use.

Meantime, the Almaguin Highlands Detachment reports four distracted drivng charges.

The OPP says in 2015,  more people died in crashes in which driver distraction was a factor compared to speed issues, seat belt factors and alcohol/drug related deaths.

The breakdown is 69 for distracted drivng, 61 deaths for speed, 51 regarding seat belt issues and 45 deaths due to alcohol/drugs.
