NB16005872_skimmer_March2016City police are issuing a public alert to movie-goers after a skimmer, which reads debit and credit card numbers and PINs, was located and removed from the pin pad of one of the self-serve ticket machines at Galaxy Cinema in North Bay.

Police say it’s the machine on the left as you enter the theatre lobby.

They say there are no reports of any victims.

But, police are asking people who went to the movies from February 15th to March 15th and used the self-serve machine to check their bank statements and report any suspicious activity to their financial institution.

Police also advise people who used the machine to contact their bank and change their Credit or Debit Card PINs.

They also say if your card was compromised after you used this tampered machine, contact the North Bay Police Service in person at 135 Princess Street West or by calling 705-497-5555 to report the fraud.

Constable Shank is the investigating officer.
