Voodoos_Newsletter_280It was game 4 of the NOJHL East division semi-final last night for the Powassan Voodoos where the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners walked away with the 2-1 victory.

Kirkland Lake did open the scoring in the game, with Joel Fortin taking the lead 97 seconds into the third period.

Jesse Anderson of the Voodoos then forced the game into overtime, where Alexander Hester won the game.

Hester was assisted by Marc-Antoine Arseneau and Brandon Wolfe.

The Voodoos did out-shoot the Gold Miners 49-30 with Garrett Forrest making 29 saves.

This win puts the Gold Miners in the lead of the best of seven series, 3-1.

Game 5 is tonight at the Powassan Sportsplex.
