Kyle Wood has signed an entry level deal with the Arizona Coyotes.

Reports say the Troops defenseman signed the deal late last night.

Wood was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in 2014, going in the third round after his second OHL season with the Battalion.

He was acquired by the Arizona Coyotes earlier this year at the NHL trade deadline, which saw the Avs acquire impending UFA Mikkel Boedker. Wood will be eligible to play for either the Coyotes or the Springfield Falcons of the AHL once the Troops season ends.

Wood had 39 points this season with eight goals in 49 games after sitting out 19 due to an injury.

He is the second Battalion to sign an entry level contract this season after Captain Mike Amadio signed the dotted line with the LA Kings earlier this month.

The North Bay Battalion resumes their playoff series this afternoon against the Peterborough Petes.

The Troops took game one 2-1 Friday evening.
