Two rezoning requests approved by Committee of Council on Monday night.

A couple of rezoning issues came up at Monday’s night’s committee meeting of council.

The first one concerns property on Chadbourne Drive.

The owners want to redevelop the property and want it zoned differently from commercial to residential so work can be done on a single detached home.

However, one of the neighbors says they would be impacted as they wouldn’t be able to get to their property from the roadway under a different zoning. They can now as it is zoned commercial.

John Hodgson spoke for the resident and says if the zoning changes the family life would be impacted.

The committee approved the rezoning request.

Community Services chair Mark King says this was a good planning decision and he suggests the concerned neighbor go through a legal process in order to secure the original access they had through private property.

Meantime, L’Arche North Bay received approval to rezone two semi detachment units on McPhail Street so that they are connected and result in 1 group home.
