New athletes joining the Lakers family in hockey and Nordic skiing

Nipising University has new recruits for both the Nordic Ski Team and the Men’s hockey team.

The hockey recruit is Adam Clements who most recently played with Whitby and Trenton in the OJHL. Clements is a defenseman from Pickering.

In his last regular season in Trenton he had 34 points including 27 assists in 37 games.

He also added nine points in 13 playoff games and is currently still playing in the OJHL Championship series.

Three other recruits are for the Nipissing Women’s Basketball team.

Both Aleisha Longmuir and Kendra Dennis are guards while Sarah Layefsky is a forward.

Longmuir is from Kingsville, Ontario and recently played in Tucemseh.

Layefsky is from Bradford and says she’s a tenacious defensive player and Dennis is from Cambridge.

On the Nordic Skiing side the recruit is Kayden Sim.

Sim comes to Nipissing from the B.C. Ski Team.

He earned a top 5 finish at the Western Canadian Championships.
