rota winsNipissing MP Anthony Rota is reminding constituents to be aware of possible tax fraud schemes in the region.

There have been claims across the country of people receiving calls from the Canada Revenue Agency asking for personal information relating to their taxes. If you receive a call or an email that sounds like a scam it probably is and the CRA will never; ask for personal information by email or text message or share your tax information with another person or organization unless you have agreed it can be shared.

As well, they will never request payment by prepaid credit card and they will not leave personal information on an answering machine.
