fight for 15 and fairnessIt’s a Day of Action across Ontario today (Friday) in the Fight for 15 and Fairness, including North Bay.

The local “Sidewalk Solidarity” event goes at 12:30 pm on Lakeshore Drive and is being put on by the North Bay and District Labour Council.

President Henri Girioux says the province did recently announce minimum wage was going up, but it’s only an extra 15 cents per hour. H

e says $15 an hour would be a good beginning.

Giroux says it would put people 10 percent above the poverty line.

He says the event is also about fighting for decent hours, paid sick days, respect at work and rules to protect everyone.
