Health Coaltion 2You could have a chance to tell the province how you feel about the current state of health care funding.

Natalie Mehra is the Executive Director of the Ontario Health Coalition and she says they are planning to hold a referendum in May simply asking Ontarians if they approve of all the cuts to their local hospitals.

She says the goal is to drum up as much support from communities across the province to take part.

She says “every community that we can find volunteers will be taking part. We have at this point at least 40 communities involved.”

Mehra says they have held referendums in the past, but this should be the biggest one from a participation stand point.

She adds the Coalition is hopeful changes can be made by the support this referendum stirs up.

Mehra says they don’t want to wait until the fall were she believes more cuts will come under the second half of the fiscal year.
