MPP wondering why Summer In The Park was shutout of funding

On Monday we told you how the North Bay area was shut out of any Celebrate Ontario funding (click here for that story).

Over $15-million is going to 200 festivals and events in other parts of the province.

Today, MPP Vic Fedeli has written to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport to clarify the reasons why Summer In The Park has been denied funding for a second straight year.

He says the local event received nearly $64,000 in 2014 and now event organizers and constituents are again questioning why that funding wasn’t renewed this year.

The letter also wonders how equitable the program is when eight events in Sudbury received funding.
