North Bay PoliceA 23 year old North Bay man Michael David Clark is facing an assault causing bodily harm charge after an incident Tuesday.

Police say someone told police they were crossing a street at Main and Fisher with their long-board and were almost hit by a vehicle and then they say an altercation ensued between them and the motorist with the complainant being assaulted. It turns out the complainant in the incident has been charged.

Police say the driver suffered non life threatening injuries.

Police say there was an altercation but the driver was struck by the long-board not as earlier indicated.

North Bay Police conducted a targeted traffic enforcement blitz on Wednesday.

It happened on Algonquin Avenue between 9:30 and 11:30 and 23 speeding tickets were issued, two distracted driving tickets were handed out, one motorist didn’t stop at a red light and 3 -72 hour notices were issued for documentation.

Police say one of the motorists was doing 73 Kilometers an hour on Algonquin.

The Emergency Services’ Communications Centre for West Nipissing Fire and Police is now equipped to receive emergency calls for service via text with T-9-1-1 for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired (DHHSI).

In order to use the service, the D-H-H-S-I community must register their cellphones with their wireless carrier in advance.

T 9-1-1 service is not intended for use by the general public.
