NEW opp police

A 63 year old Englehart man has died after a vehicle collided with a moose on Highway 11 North last night (Sunday).

North Bay OPP say they were dispatched at 9:30 pm to the fatal crash in Notman Township.

Police say Emergency Medical Services and the North Bay Fire Department attended the scene.

OPP say the investigation revealed that a moose was standing on the crest of a hill in the northbound lane when a northbound vehicle struck the animal.

The victim has been identified as Leonard Lear.

Police say the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene and is assisting with this ongoing investigation.
