Committee trying to recognize businesses that are at least 100 years old

The Municipal Heritage Committee has introduced a new program to recognize long-time local businesses.

Chair Peter Handley says it’s called the “Century of Service Recognition Program.”

Businesses that have been in operation for 100 years or more can fill out a short application form and submit it to the committee.

Handley says, “if businesses are interested and they have the documentation we’d be glad to give them the certificate.”

The application form can be found at the website www.cityofnorthbay.ca/heritage

The goal is to acknowledge the contributions these businesses have made to the City of North Bay.
