(UPDATE) another couple whooping cough immunization clinics being held

With increasing numbers of confirmed cases of whooping cough in the West Nipissing District, the Health Unit is holding another couple immunization clinics in Sturgeon Falls.

The first one today (Tuesday) goes from 3:30 pm to 6 pm at Ecole Elementaire La Resurrection on Third Street.

Another clinic is being held from 3:30 pm to 6 pm tomorrow (Wednesday) at Ecole Elementaire Catholique Saint-Joseph.

Officials say the best way to protect against whooping cough is by getting immunized.

The health unit says children who haven’t received the immunization are at increased risk of developing the disease, as are children whose immunization is incomplete.

As well, adults who are around infants and young children should be immunized as well.
