Couple structure fires over the past couple days

City fire crews were called out to a couple structure fires in the past couple days.

Just before 12:30 this morning (Saturday), a trailer at a construction site off Giroux Street was completely destroyed.

The cause is not known and the work site was not staffed at the time.

Meantime, some residents of an apartment complex have been displaced after a call about smoke in a third floor apartment on the 400 block of Worthington Street East.

That call came in before 11:30 Thursday night.

Officials say fire burned through some water lines, which actually helped to keep the fire down until crews got there and snuffed it out quickly.

There’s no word on a cause or damage estimate.
