There’s plenty of interest locally in a couple of Canadian athletes taking part in the Rio Olympics.

One of them is only a couple of days away from competing.

The 100m backstroke event includes former North Bay Y Titan Dominique Bouchard.

The heats get started at about noon on Sunday.

Bouchard is also competing in the 200m backstroke.

The heats in that event go Thursday, August 11th.

Meantime, Callander’s Taylor Milne (pictured below) is competing in the 3000m Steeplechase.

Monday, August 15th is when the heats take place.

Here are the event times:
100m backstroke
HEATS — 12:02pm on Sunday, August 7th
SEMIFINALS — 10:36pm on Sunday, August 7th
FINAL – 9:30pm on Monday, Aug 8th

200m backstroke
HEATS — 1:36pm on Thursday, August 11th
SEMIFINALS — 9:35pm on Thursday, August 11th
FINAL — 9:03pm on Friday, August 12th

3000m Steeplechase
HEATS — 9:25am on Monday, August 15th
FINAL — 10:50am on Wednesday, August 17th
