"PINK-nic" held in the lead up to the CIBC Run For The Cure

Local officials are counting down the days to the CIBC Run For the Cure with a number of activities lined up before the main event in October.

They held a “PINK-nic” in the Diegel Parkette at Main and Fraser today (Thursday) selling pink lemonade and sweets.

Director Melanie Gainforth says there are more events to come too.

She says they also have a spaghetti dinner at the Davedi Club coming up and a comedy night later on in September too.

The CIBC Run For The Cure goes Sunday, October 2nd at the waterfront with both 1 km and 5 km events.

All funds raised go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
