The SoldierOn program is benefiting from a fundraiser at St Louis Bar and Grill tonight (Friday).

From 5 pm until close, 10% of bills will be donated to SoliderOn.

Corporal Mark Goldade says the Canadian Armed Forces program supports currently serving members and veterans to overcome their physical or mental health illness or injury through physical activity and sport. “The organization helps the individual members that have suffered some kind of mental or physical illness and enroll them in various activities to try and gain their confidence back, get them back into society.”

Since 2006, it has helped more than 2,000 ill and injured members in a variety of ways.

That includes sporting or recreational equipment, access to high-level training, structure activities like alpine skiing or fishing and more.

In the first year of the fundraiser, they ran “SoldierOn Monday’s” which ran in 4 locations, raising $3,600.

This past June, they ran a single day only in 9 locations across Canada and raised $2,800.
