City police report an 18 year old man from Brampton along with three youth from Brampton and Etobicoke are facing several charges including possession of counterfeit money.

This after fake American money was used at a local pharmacy and shopping mall on Fisher Street Saturday.

Police seized $1,770 in counterfeit U-S money, three knives, Canadian cash (obtained as change following counterfeit transactions) and the adult male’s vehicle as offence-related property.

Police say they were contacted by a department store staff member who suspected the currency was counterfeit.

 

A couple of city residents are facing several charges including drug-possession for the purpose of trafficking charges after separate incidents.

Police executed a search warrant on a Main East apartment and seized 60 Methamphetamine pills along with 3 Hydropmorph Contin tablets, under a gram of cocaine, $540 Canadian cash and a knife.

A 45 year old man is facing five charges in that incident.

Meantime, on Friday police observed a woman and three other men in a rear parking lot on the 500 block of Main Street East, suspecting they were consuming a controlled substance.

Just over 23 grams of marijuana, 38 methamphetamine pills, 4 Percocets, a can of pepper spray and $60 Canadian currency was seized.

A 29 year old woman is facing six charges in total.

 

Six speeding tickets were handed out by North Bay Police on Friday as a part of their ongoing Back To School Traffic Enforcement Campaign.

A couple of drivers were going 25 km/h over the posted speed limit of 50 km/h on Gormanville Road and Algonquin Avenue.

Two more were caught going 23 km/h and 24 km/h over the limit in the Community Safety Zone on Marshall Avenue East.

Police say the amber lights were flashing to indicate the speed limit was reduced to 40 km/h.
