There weren’t any speeding tickets issued yesterday (Monday) with the city police Back To School traffic enforcement campaign, but a motorist was ticketed for not stopping for a school bus this morning.

Police say the incident happened on Trout Lake Road.

The driver was issued a $490, including victim surcharge and court costs.

Numerous complaints about street racing on Tower Drive, Carmichael Drive and Smith Road have led to active monitoring by city police.

Officers, some in unmarked vehicles, are actively watching the area.

Police say being caught street racing results in an immediate seven-day licence suspension and the vehicle is immediately impounded for seven-days too.

Drivers can also face fines up to $10,000, six demerit points, license suspension or even six months in jail.
