The Powassan Voodoos ran into a hot goaltender and lost 3-1 to Kirkland Lake last night (Monday) at the Sportsplex.

Victor-Olivier Courchesne turned away 52 shots to earn the win for the Gold Miners.

Andy Baker scored the lone Powassan goal.

The Voodoos are now 2-1 on the season and are back in action next Monday at home to Cochrane.

 

An information session and registration event is happening tonight (Tuesday) at Laurentian Ski Hill for those interested in becoming a part of the Canadian Ski Patrol.

The event goes at 7 pm in the Lower Lodge at 900 Ski Club Road.

The not-for-profit volunteer organization provides first aid services at Laurentian Ski Hill and across the country.

 

The YMCA is offering pickelball on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 am to 1 pm.

The cost for non-members is $6 a day.

Meantime, registrations are now underway for YMCA pre-school programs taking place every Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Activities include gym games, crafts, story time and swimming.
