A video has been posted on YouTube involving fishing on Lake Nipissing and inherent and treaty rights.

The video (above) is described as two Nipissing First Nation members being confronted Saturday morning by the Ministry of Natural Resources and a representative of the Nipissing First Nation Natural Resource Department.

“You have to charge us, otherwise leave us alone.” One man is heard on the video.

The other then says, “We didn’t do anything to bother you, don’t come out here and bother us. We have our right to fish.”
The two First Nation members say their inherent and treaty rights were being infringed upon.

The six-minute video concludes with both parties saying they’ll meet on shore.
