City police highlight five more missing persons cases

All year long North Bay Police have been highlighting their unsolved missing persons cases, with five more given the spotlight today (Monday).

Cecille Wesley‘s son Glen went missing six years ago in September 2010.

He had a pass from the former Psychiatric Hospital.

She says it means quite a bit to the families that police are getting the word out, “I believe it will just take that one person who will say that they saw that missing family member. I’m sure it will mean a lot to the other families and also to myself in regards to Glen, if there are any tips, it would be so much appreciated,” Wesley said following the media event at city police headquarters.

She says there were sightings of Glen in Ottawa about two years ago and they continue to hold out hope he’ll be found.

Detective Constable Dave Wilson says with all of the cases they’re relying on the provincial Resolve initiative, which is a huge resource for them, “They’re the ones that are pushing our cases forward as far as matching with unidentified human remains in Ontario. Once that’s done our hopes are that we will be able to starting pushing our cases to a national level, being compared with other provinces throughout Canada.”

A national DNA database has yet to be set up.
