A successful 10th annual Our Hospital Walk/Run in North Bay.

Over 700 people took part in the North Bay Regional Health Centre event yesterday (Sunday).

Over $134,500 was raised this year.

That brings the total to over $1-million in the past decade.

Funds raised help support the purchase of advanced medical equipment and programming at the Regional Health Centre.

“It is amazing to see so many familiar faces of those who have supported and participated in this important signature event for years. Funds raised today will support more advanced levels of care for you, your family and your community,” Paul Heinrich, President & CEO, NBRHC told the crowd during the opening ceremonies.

“When you support your hospital, your donations stay local and help purchase needed medical equipment so that you have access to the best possible care, close to home,” Heinrich added.

“The community’s fundraising efforts are focused on supporting the purchase of advanced medical equipment, helping our colleagues, friends and family members have access to the best possible care here in North Bay,” said Tammy Morison, President and CEO of NBRHC Foundation.

“I thank all of the sponsors, walkers, runners and volunteers, who made Our Hospital Walk/Run a huge success again this year. Through your support, you are helping to provide advanced levels of care, close to home.”

Community and Hospital teams were celebrated and recognized through the Team Challenge Awards.
