Small business is the focus for the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce this week.

That’s because it’s Canadore College Small Business Week 2016.

Events kick off with a luncheon today (Monday) with Air Canada talking about becoming a global champion while tomorrow RBC discusses planning, selling or buying a business.

Wednesday is a presentation called “The Economic Case of Inclusion” presented by the Small Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound.

Mark Wafer is a nationally recognized speaker who owns six Tim Hortons Restaurants in Toronto and has hired 120 people with disabilities over the past 20 years.

The Ontario Chamber will also be presenting on Employment Standards and Accessibility requirements for business.

Wednesday also features the Business After Hours and Mini-trade show hosted by iCAMP at Canadore’s Commerce Court Campus.

Thursday will see local businesses honoured at the Bell Evening of Excellence and Chamber Executive Director Patti Carr says they’re celebrating small businesses in 8 different categories. “We’re very proud to have great businesses in our area and the economic value that they bring to our region.”

101.9 Rock’s Mitch Belanger and Vicki Tyler are hosting the event.

To wrap up the week, on Friday, the Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound is hosting an Inbound Marketing session involving strategic marketing in the Internet Era.
