The North Bay Battalion have another busy stretch over the next four days with 3 games.

It starts tonight with a home match-up against Oshawa.

The Battalion enter play with a 6-6 record. Four of the six wins have come on the road.

Coach Stan Butler says the players aren’t worried about entertaining people on the road and they’re just trying to win games.

Butler says young teams tend to play a bit better on the road, but he’s hoping last week’s comeback win over the 67’s will get them going in a positive direction at home.

The Battalion are led by Brett McKenzie who has 13 points in 11 games.

Earlier this week, he was named to Team OHL for the CIBC Canada-Russia Series and will play against a Russian National Junior team twice next month, in North Bay on November 10th and in Hamilton on November 14th.

McKenzie says he’s a quiet leader, leading by his actions on the ice rather than vocally in the dressing room.

Catch tonight’s game on Country 600 CKAT.  The broadcast begins at 6:55 pm.

The Troops will then hit the road on the weekend for stops in Windsor on Saturday and Sarnia on Sunday.

In OUA men’s hockey, the Nipissing Lakers fired 30 shots at the Laurentian net Wednesday night, but only one went in.

Nipissing lost the game 3-1.

The Lakers travel to Sudbury tomorrow (Friday) for the rematch.

Combined with the OUA soccer season, Laurentian now leads the 705 Challenge Cup 5 games to none.
